After surviving several almost shut downs, I was skeptical at first. However, it seems like the rumors have been substantiated.
This is a very sad time, especially as I go through and save my old posts. Between Oppo and LaLD, I have been posting for almost 6 years and almost 500 posts. I’d been lurking off and on for a few years before that. I’ve gone through huge life changes and it’s always been a constant for me. This platform has given me great friends and awesome opportunities and always inspires me to do more. Thank you Oppo (and LaLD), you’ve been good to me.
With that being said, I am on the discord and plan on being an active member of whatever platform is chosen.

Man, that photo, it all of a sudden got so 2000s up in here. Love the photo though. I still haven’t gone through and saved all my old posts.
It is indeed a sad day but I think making the move away from a stagnating Jalopnik suffocating under herb rule will benefit us in the long run.

It will. Its just sad losing a familiar platform and likely a significant number of readers and members.
Also both cars are 07 MY, it’s like a late ‘00s middle class garage haha.

Or a high school parking lot circa 2015. Not too many of the Pontiacs left on the road now from neglect and bad treatment but they were good cars. The Nissan’s too are hard to find in good condition anymore.
Yes, it is sad to see Kinja go. As much as we like to hate on it, there's a reason it's so hard to replace. I also hate to see people not make the transition but I know not everyone will be coming back
